As part of my work experience for my Graphic Design course at Bournemouth & Poole College, I spent the week working with Harbourside Visual – a fresh new business in Poole run by Phil and James.
After spending a week with these guys and learning about what they do, I can safely say that I don’t regret choosing them for my work experience. Not only is their work interesting, but the work environment is really relaxed and casual; almost as if you’re just working alongside friends. It was a really welcoming experience and I felt like I was a part of the team for the time I was with them
I got to take part in a photoshoot at the start of the week where we used special smoke grenade effects for a cosplayer, and after that I got to see how they edited these photos in post.
Through the rest of the week I learned more about their business and began helping them making posters, blogs and leaflets for their business. With it, I got to experiment with programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator – and even Adobe InDesign, which is something I didn’t know how to use before working with them.
I learned a lot during the week I had with Harbourside Visual – and honestly I really enjoyed spending my time working with them. I can highly recommend Harbourside to anyone looking for a friendly duo to work with.
